The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Melrose Police Department's official public log for the period June 20, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).


Monday, March 2, 10:32 a.m.Suspicious Activity: A report of a party going through trash in a dumpster on the 900 block of Main Street; no one was present on officer arrival.

Monday, March 2, 11:22 a.m.Larceny/Fraud: A walk-in report of fraudulent checks at the Methodist Church, 600 block of Main Street; the matter was determined to be civil in nature.

Monday, March 2, 2:17 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 200 block of West Foster Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 2, 5:28 p.m.Suspicious Activity: A report of drug activity in the parking lot near Whole Foods, 800 block of Main Street; officer could not locate.

Monday, March 2, 5:29 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on Oakland Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 2, 10:08 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency at a nursing home on the 40 block of Martin Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Tuesday, March 3, 8:31 a.m.Breaking and Entering (Past): The owner of a garage on the 100 block of Tremont Street reported that vehicles were entered overnight and items stolen.

Tuesday, March 3, 9:01 a.m.Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at East Emerson Street and Stratford Road; a report was filed.

Tuesday, March 3, 2:49 p.m.Suspicious Activity: A report of suspected drug activity involving a maroon Nissan (MA plate 36AC85) at Mystic Avenue and Summer Street; officers were unable to locate.

Tuesday, March 3, 3:19 p.m.Breaking and Entering (Past): A report of a possible house break on the 200 block of First Street; state police were also responding to a related motor vehicle stop on Larchmont Road.

Tuesday, March 3, 5:23 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 30 block of Main Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Tuesday, March 3, 9:23 p.m.Assist Citizen: A report of house flooding at a residence on the 100 block of Perkins Street due to frozen pipes.

Wednesday, March 4, 7:55 a.m.Carbon Monoxide Alarm: A carbon monoxide alarm on the 99 block of West Emerson Street; fire department responded and identified the problem.

Wednesday, March 4, 11:02 a.m.Suspicious Activity: A walk-in report of suspected illegal activities on the 100 block of Trenton Street; a report was filed.

Wednesday, March 4, 11:54 a.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 30 block of Main Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Wednesday, March 4, 3:05 p.m.Complaint: Train crossing gates reported down for an extended time at the Highlands Depot on Franklin Street; commuter rail technicians responded.

Wednesday, March 4, 7:58 p.m.Larceny: A report of a stolen cell phone at an apartment on the 12 block of Island Hill Avenue; a report was filed.

Wednesday, March 4, 8:17 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 100 block of Laurel Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Wednesday, March 4, 11:34 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 75 block of Howard Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Thursday, March 5, 8:13 a.m.Warrant Service (Attempted): Officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at 802 Main Street; service was not made.

Thursday, March 5, 8:13 a.m.Parking/Traffic Hazard: A vehicle blocking the sidewalk on the 100 block of Trenton Street, creating a hazard for pedestrians walking to school; the vehicle was ticketed and towed after the plate returned as expired from out of state.

Thursday, March 5, 9:07 a.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on Lynde Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Thursday, March 5, 10:07 a.m.Assist Citizen: A caller concerned about an online contact was advised on internet safety and financial scam avoidance on Forest Street.

Thursday, March 5, 10:54 a.m.Assist Citizen: A young child was found locked inside a motor vehicle on the 500 block of Main Street; the child was safely retrieved.

Thursday, March 5, 12:02 p.m.Well-Being Check: A well-being check near City Hall on the 500 block of Main Street on a man who had fallen; the party was gone on arrival.

Thursday, March 5, 12:20 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on Nason Drive; one person was transported to the hospital.

Thursday, March 5, 1:57 p.m.Medical Emergency: An officer observed a person fall and sustain a possible injury at Main Street and East Wyoming Avenue; one person was transported to the hospital.

Thursday, March 5, 2:40 p.m.Suspicious Activity/Arrest: Officers responded to a report of possible drug activity at Summer Street and Mystic Avenue. Jon Kathe, 29, of Concord, was charged with Possession of a Class A Drug (subsequent offense) and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law.

Thursday, March 5, 3:04 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency at City Hall on the 500 block of Main Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Thursday, March 5, 4:08 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 80 block of Grove Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Friday, March 6, 8:18 a.m.Motor Vehicle Accident: A motor vehicle accident on the 400 block of Franklin Street at Tremont Street; a report was filed.

Friday, March 6, 8:18 a.m.Vandalism: Graffiti reported in a third-floor boys' bathroom at Melrose High School, 360 Lynn Fells Parkway; a report was filed.

Friday, March 6, 8:43 a.m.Traffic Signal Outage: Traffic lights reported not working at Main Street and Porter Street.

Friday, March 6, 1:09 p.m.Traffic Signal Outage: Traffic lights reported out at the intersection of Main Street and Green Street; lights came back on.

Friday, March 6, 1:45 p.m.Traffic — Failure to Stop: A motor vehicle (MA plate 7858EG) reportedly refused to stop for a uniformed officer at Main Street and Porter Street; could not locate.

Friday, March 6, 5:12 p.m.Complaint: A resident on the 58 block of Malvern Street was found to have snow falling from snowbanks into the street; officer spoke with the resident.

Friday, March 6, 11:46 p.m.Commercial Alarm: An alarm at a commercial address on the 400 block of Main Street; the fire department was required to make forced entry to access the alarm panel.

Friday, March 6, 11:49 p.m.Disturbance/Summons: A complaint at the Town Line Inn, 733 Newburyport Turnpike; a summons was issued. Charges: Larceny Over $250.

Saturday, March 7, 3:41 a.m.Disturbance/Medical Emergency: A caller reported screaming from a neighboring apartment at Nason Drive; the party had fallen in the bathtub and was transported to the hospital by the Melrose Fire Department.

Saturday, March 7, 12:18 p.m.Wire Down: A wire down reported on the 310 block of Washington Street; fire department responded.

Saturday, March 7, 1:25 p.m.Disturbance: A nurse at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, 585 Lebanon Street, reported a discharged patient refusing to leave; the patient was observed collecting belongings and departing.

Saturday, March 7, 5:30 p.m.Complaint: Two people reported on the ice at Ell Pond near the 750 block of Main Street; unable to locate.

Saturday, March 7, 6:11 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 600 block of Lynn Fells Parkway; one person was transported to the hospital. A report was filed.

Saturday, March 7, 7:34 p.m.Assist Citizen: A caller reported a neighbor struck her daughter's parked car on the 7 block of Fairmount Street; a report was filed.

Saturday, March 7, 11:06 p.m.Assist Other Agency: Melrose police assisted Everett Police Department; a report was filed.

Sunday, March 8, 12:04 a.m.Complaint: A loud party reported on the 100 block of Linwood Avenue; peace restored.

Sunday, March 8, 1:52 a.m.Disturbance: A walk-in complaint at the police station; a report was filed.

Sunday, March 8, 12:52 p.m.Motor Vehicle Accident: A motor vehicle accident on the 100 block of Howard Street; a report was filed.

Sunday, March 8, 2:03 p.m.Motor Vehicle Accident: Two parked vehicles struck on the 99 block of Essex Street; a report was filed.

Sunday, March 8, 2:23 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 200 block of Howard Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Sunday, March 8, 3:30 p.m.Suspicious Activity — Firearm: A caller reported observing a passenger in a vehicle at the Shell station on the 800 block of Main Street with a handgun. Officers located a vehicle matching the description driving south on Main Street but were unable to stop it.

Sunday, March 8, 5:41 p.m.Missing Person: A report of a missing patient from a nursing home on the 75 block of Lake Avenue; determined to be unfounded.

Sunday, March 8, 5:42 p.m.Suspicious Motor Vehicle/Medical Emergency: A report of erratic vehicle operation at West Wyoming Avenue and Pleasant Street; the driver was located and found to require medical attention and was transported to the hospital.

Sunday, March 8, 8:44 p.m.Medical Emergency: A man-down call near the 14 block of Chipman Avenue; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 1:59 a.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency at the Melrose Elks Home, 75 Myrtle Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 5:16 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 110 block of Walton Park; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 5:30 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 55 block of Boardman Avenue; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 5:48 p.m.911 — Child Misuse: An officer confirmed that a child at the 30 block of Trenton Street had been repeatedly calling 911.

Monday, March 9, 6:04 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency at a dental office on the 80 block of West Foster Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 6:11 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency at the YMCA Day Care, 100 block of Main Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 5:11 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 9 block of Howard Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 10:00 p.m.Medical Emergency: A medical emergency on the 30 block of First Street; one person was transported to the hospital.

Monday, March 9, 6:08 p.m.Wire Down: Wires reported down in the road on the 260 block of Tremont Street.

Monday, March 9, 6:33 p.m.Larceny: A report that a locker had been broken into at the Melrose YMCA, 400 block of Main Street; a report was filed.

Monday, March 9, 6:40 p.m.Gas Odor: An odor of gas reported inside a restaurant on the 500 block of Main Street; a neighboring agency assisted.

Monday, March 9, 10:07 p.m.Possible Break-In: A caller reported that someone may have attempted to enter a first-floor apartment on the 17 block of Chestnut Park more than an hour earlier; a report was filed.
